Wiscasset, Waterville and Farmington (WW&F) Railway in Alna will begin its summer schedule this Saturday, July 3.

The historic narrow gauge railway’s Sheepscot Valley Steam Train offers a 50-minute round trip aboard historic cars pulled by a steam locomotive. Handcar Hops are back again. For 90 minutes, join one of our crew members aboard one of our human-powered pump cars for a unique, personal tour of the Railway.

Our popular Ice Cream Eggspress Trains will run July 3 and Aug. 21 with homemade ice cream from Deb’s in Randolph. The Railway’s Annual Picnic is Aug. 7 with three historic steam locomotives in operation. Aug. 14 and 15 is our WWI Reenactment Weekend, in partnership with 103rd Regiment Living History.

Evening concerts, under the Railway’s new pavilion at Alna Center, are scheduled throughout summer. New trains this season include Storytime Trains for our younger passengers. Those trips combine a ride aboard the train to Alna Center, storytelling, and singing. Meanwhile, others might enjoy our Lavender Pickin’ Dinnertime Train to SeaLyon Farm or Ride the Rails to Hike the Trails in partnership with Midcoast Conservancy. For  nearly all of our trains, an entire caboose can be chartered for large groups, or those who would like to travel in their own private car.

Buy tickets at wwfry.org/tickets or arrive early at Sheepscot Station at 97 Cross Road.
