To facilitate construction of the new Station 46 bridge in Woolwich, Route 1 traffic will be shifted onto a temporary roadway detour starting May 31. The detour shift will start immediately east of the Station 46 bridge and will continue for about 1,350 feet, where traffic will then shift back onto Route 1. The two-lane detour will redirect both northbound and southbound traffic.

The speed limit through the work zone will be reduced to 35 mph. Motorists should expect delays when traveling through the area and seek an alternate route if possible.
